Sagarmala Dev Co office inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, Dec 26 (IBNS): Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and Shipping, Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Sagarmala Development Company’s office premises, in New Delhi on Monday.

Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Rajive Kumar was also present at the event.

The Sagarmala Development Company will mainly focus on the identification of port-led development projects under the Sagarmala programme and provide equity support for the project, media reported.

The National Perspective Plan for the Sagarmala programme was prepared and approved by the National Sagarmala Apex Committee on Apr 9, 2016 and released at the maiden Maritime India Summit 2016, on Apr 142016, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At the press meet following the inauguration, talking about various plans, Gadkari said 1.25 crore fishermen will get trawlers to fish beyond 12 nautical miles.
