Mumbai/IBNS: Industrialist Ratan Tata seemed to be in a lighter mood on Thursday and hence treated his followers with a throwback photo of himself from his Los Angeles days.

The 82-year-old Chairman Emeritus of the Tata Group took to Instagram to share an old image of himself wearing a white T-shirt, smiling for the camera.

Ratan Tata made his debut on this platform only three months ago after remaining aloof from the social media for long.

Sharing this latest image, he explained in his caption that he would have posted the picture yesterday - but for the fact that someone told him about "'throwbacks' and how they occur on Thursdays, therefore he is following the trend."

"I was going to post this yesterday, but I was then told about 'throwbacks' and how they occur on Thursdays," wrote Ratan Tata.

Throwback Thursdays are very popular on the internet these days where celebrities, public figures and other netizens share their old photographs.

Within an hour of being shared, the throwback picture has received over 1 lakh 'likes' and thousands of compliments like "handsome" and "Hollywood actor."
