President Pranab Mukherjee writes to Sushma Swaraj, wishing her early recovery

New Delhi, Dec 10 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday wrote to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who has underwent kidney transplant at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), wishing her speedy recovery.

"#PresidentMukherjee writes to @SushmaSwaraj wishing early recovery," read the official Twitter page of the President.

"Dear Sushma Ji, It is with satisfaction that I learnt that you underwent a successful surgery today and are now convalescing," read a post on the page.

"You have forever been a fighter and I am sure, it is only a matter of time before you are back at the helm at the earliest. Warm good wishes," read another tweet.

Sushma Swaraj underwent kidney transplant at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Saturday, reports said.

On Nov 16, she tweeted that she was admitted to AIIMS because of kidney failure and was undergoing transplantation.

Swaraj, who is a diabetic, was admitted to the hospital on November seven with failing kidneys.

She has been on dialysis for the past few weeks.
