President Mukherjee condoles loss of lives due to cyclone in WB and floods in many other states

New Delhi, Aug 2 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday condoled the loss of lives due to Cyclone ‘Komen’ in West Bengal and floods in certain areas of Bihar, Gujarat, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

In individual messages sent to the Governors of West Bengal, Bihar, Gujarat, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, the President said, “I am saddened to learn about the loss of lives, injuries and damage to property caused by the Cyclone/floods in certain areas of the State."

"My thoughts are with all those affected by this natural calamity. I understand rescue and relief operations are currently underway. I am sure that the State Government and other agencies are taking necessary steps to provide all possible help to the bereaved families who have lost their near and dear ones as well as medical assistance to the injured," he said.

The President said: "Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I wish speedy recovery to the injured persons.”
