Post mortem on bodies of Indian tourists begins in Nepal: MoS Muraleedharan
New Delhi/UNI: Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan on Wednesday spoke to Indian embassy officials in Nepal and took stock of the process to expedite post mortem and other works related to bodies of eight Indian tourists who died in a hill resort.
"....Post mortem of the deceased eight Indian tourists has already started. Our Embassy is working closely with the T U Teaching hospital and local authorities to expedite the process," Muraleedharan tweeted.
On Tuesday, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar had expressed 'distress' at the tragic news.
"Deeply distressed by the tragic news of the passing away of 8 Indian tourists in Nepal. Our Embassy has been closely following the situation. Embassy officials are stationed at the hospital and are providing necessary assistance.Our thoughts are with the bereaved families," Dr Jaishankar had written on micro blogging site.
According to media reports, eight Indian tourists, including four children were 'found dead in their room' at a hill resort in Daman, a popular tourist destination in Makwanpur district about 55 kilometres from Kathmandu.
