PM Modi, Ashraf Ghani discuss COVID 19 situation during Navroz greetings exchange

New Delhi/IBNS:  Exchanging Navroz greetings, Indian PM Narendra Modi and Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday discussed the evolving situation arising in the region particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with President Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan earlier today. Both the leaders exchanged Navroz greetings noting that the festival symbolizes the shared heritage and cultural linkages between the two countries," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement

The Leaders discussed the evolving situation in the region particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and reaffirmed their commitment to boost cooperation. 

Both India and Afghanistan have reported COVID19 infection cases.
