Militant killed, three army soldiers injured in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Dec 4 (IBNS): At least one militant was killed in a ongoing gunfight with security forces in Bounigam area of Qazigund in South Kashmir's Kulgam district, officials said on Monday.

According to sources, fierce gunfight erupted after militants carried out an attack on an army patrol at Bounigam Qazigund, leaving three soldiers injured, and fled away from the scene.

They took shelter inside a building.

A police official told IBNS: "Soon after the firing, security forces, along with special task force, intensified searches to trace out the hiding militants. After the search party entered the building, the hiding militants fired upon force which triggered an encounter."

“One militant was killed. While others are still inside the building,” said police 

When last reports came in the intermittent firing was going on.
