Manipur: Four cops killed, four others injured in two attacks by militants

Guwahati, Dec 15 (IBNS): At least four cops were killed and four others injured in two separate incidents of ambush laid by suspected militants in Manipur's Chandel and Tengnaupal districts on Thursday morning.

According to reports, suspected NSCN (IM) militants attacked a Manipur police vehicle at Lokchao area near Moreh along the India-Myanmar border while the police team was travelling to Tengnaupal district for a scheduled programme of Chief  Minister Okram Ibobi Singh.

One policeman died on the spot and two others succumbed to their injuries at Moreh hospital.

The other incident took place in the Bongyang area.

In the second militants attack, one policeman was injured and later succumbed to his injuries at Jivan hospital at Kakching.

Top  police and army officials have rushed to the attack sites and launched operation against  the attackers.

A top Manipur police official said that NSCN (IM) militants are behind the both attack.
