Neha was riding pillion on a two-wheeler driven by her brother. When the vehicle skidded over a pothole Dugadh Phata, she fell on the road and was crushed to death by a passing by truck.

Enraged over the incident, hundreds of youths of the Youth Wing of the Shramajivi Sanghatana, led by its president Pramod Pawar, rushed to the Angaon toll Naka and forced its closure around midnight.

Assistant Police Inspector Mahesh Sagde said that an offence under section 304A, culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered against the unknown driver of a vehicle.

The body has been sent for a postmortem, he said, adding that the police would conduct a probe and take necessary steps in the case.
