Maharashtra Crime: Father-son held for killing lover in Thane

Thane/UNI: A 42-year-old man and his son have been arrested for allegedly killing a young man in Khinvali village of Sahapur taluka of this district, police said on Tuesday.

The duo accused have been identified as Khadke and his son Chintan (24), said the police.

According to police, the 24-year-old victim Nilesh Ambir was in love with Khadke's daughter.There were verbal spars between the families of the victim and accused over the matter.

On Monday, Nilesh and the sister of the accused astride a two-wheeler were spotted by the father-son duo.

In a fit of rage, Khadke and his son assaulted the victim with iron roads and left him wounded on the road.

He was rushed to the nearby hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead, stated the police.

Offence under IPC sections 302,341,326,504 and 506 rw 34 has been registered against the duo who were arrested on Monday night, police told UNI.

The victim's body has been sent for a post-mortem and a probe is underway, added the police.
