Bhopal/IBNS: Extending Diwali greetings to all state government employees, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday (Oct. 28) announced a four percent hike in their Dearness Allowance (DA).

CM Yadav emphasized the government's commitment to its employees, stating that from January 1, 2024, the DA would increase by 4 percent, raising the rate from 46 percent to 50 percent.

He remarked, "I extend my wishes to all employees on Diwali. The state government has decided to raise the dearness allowance for all employees. My congratulations are doubled with Diwali and Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day approaching."

He noted that the foundation day, which falls on November 1, marks the formation of Madhya Pradesh in 1956, and expressed his pride in the state's journey forward.

He highlighted the dedication and hard work of the state employees, saying they have made a mark nationwide.

"We have a responsibility to support our employees," he added.

Yadav confirmed that the 46 percent DA was made effective from July 1, 2023, with arrears disbursed in installments, while the new rate of 50 percent will be effective from January 1, 2024.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he reiterated these announcements and expressed gratitude for the employees' contributions.

He confirmed that the arrears would be paid in four equal installments during this financial year.

Reflecting on Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day, Yadav expressed appreciation for the contributions of state employees and looked forward to celebrating the state’s establishment and rich heritage alongside Diwali.
