Arvind Kejriwal, family ‘missing’ from Delhi voter list, claims Aam Aadmi Party

The allegation relates to notices issued by the Election Commission during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Delhi’s voter list.

The Election Commission, however, has rejected the suggestion that Kejriwal and his family members are missing from the electoral roll. An EC official told NDTV that their names are included in the list and explained that the notices were issued because their details had not been linked to the previous SIR voter database.

The final electoral roll is expected to be published on November 4.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has also received a notice as part of the verification exercise. In her case, the issue reportedly concerned a discrepancy between her age and the ages recorded for her parents.

The Electoral Registration Officer for the Shalimar Bagh constituency subsequently told NDTV that Gupta's details had been verified and that her name had been included in the final voter list.

The AAP criticised the Election Commission over the notices in a post on X.

"Is everything happening in this country just to keep the Supreme Lord happy?" the party wrote.

The party also questioned how the names of Kejriwal and his family members could be described as missing from Delhi's voter list, tagging the Election Commission in its post.

Meanwhile, the scale of the ongoing verification exercise has drawn attention, with around 31 lakh electors reportedly receiving notices so far.

The draft electoral roll currently contains around 97.5 lakh names, with the final list scheduled to be released in November.
