Kolkata, Jan 25 (IBNS): Few hours prior to the Republic Day, the security level has been increased in Kolkata, reports said.
According to police reports, security in all congested and important places in the city, including Dumdum airport, Esplanade, Howrah Station, Sealdah Station, Victoria Memorial Hall, Indian Museum, Kalighat temple, Dakshineswar temple and several others, have been tighten with a major number of security forces.

"We have taken few to steps to keep Kolkata secured. At least 10 watch towers have been made in the city and 13 units of Quick Response Team (QRT) will be deployed to different important locations in the city including Red Road, where the main R-Day parade will take place," one senior official of Kolkata Police told IBNS.

"Nearly 10000 policemen will be on duty tomorrow and drones will be ready to fly for surveillance. Red Road area will be under strict surveillance and control to avoid any untoward incident," the officer further said.

Besides the state's capital, important premises in other districts of West Bengal are under a high level security coverage for the Republic Day.
