Kolkata, Jan 26 (IBNS): A suspected Bangladeshi national was arrested on Monday for snapping pictures of Indian Army's Command Hospital at Alipore area in Kolkata, reports said on Tuesday.
According to reports, Indian Army jawans on Monday detained the suspect- Md. Nur Islam- while he was clicking the pictures of Command Hospital. After primary questioning, he was handed over to Kolkata Police on Monday night.

"We arrested one 23-year-old suspect- Md. Nur Islam- and one cell phone, by which he was clicking pictures, has been seized from him. We have found few suspicious video clips and images from it. We are interrogating him to confirm if there is any terror link with the person," one senior official of Kolkata Police told IBNS.

"During interrogation he claimed that he is a Bangladeshi national. But he could not provide any identity proof such as passport and visa. We have found few contact numbers of Bangladesh in his cell phone, where he used to make call almost everyday," the officer further said.

The suspect has been charged under IPC sections 120-B (Criminal conspiracy), 467 (Forgery of valuable security or will), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (Using as genuine a forged document or electronic record), 420 (Cheating) and section 14 of Foreigners Act 1946.

However, he was produced in the Alipore Court on Tuesday and sent to police custody till Feb 1. Besides Kolkata Police, the Central Intelligence Bureau is also interrogating the suspect.
