A Jammu and Kashmir-based school teacher has been nominated for the prestigious  Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Programme (2024-2025) in the United States.

Tajamul Naseem Lone is a higher secondary school teacher in Baramulla.

Lone, who hails from Dangiwacha in Rafiabad, will participate in a six-week professional learning experience at a U.S. university, where international educators explore teaching methodologies, student-centered learning, and instructional technology, reported The Kashmiriyat.

He credits his success to the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Dangiwacha and mentorship from Fulbright alumnus Rameez Sudan.

The 38-year-old is the only participant from Kashmir region and one of the seven participants selected for the programme.

“We are thrilled to congratulate Tajamul Naseem Lone on this well-deserved recognition,” Jennifer Gibson, Branch Chief of the Teacher Exchange Branch was quoted as saying by The Kashmiriyat. “This award embodies the Fulbright Program’s mission to promote mutual understanding and global education.”
