Srinagar/UNI: Mobile internet service remained suspended for the sixth day on Tuesday in central Kashmir districts of Budgam and Srinagar as a precautionary measure.

Internet service and mobile service all companies, barring BSNL, were suspended on Wednesday night in the Kashmir valley as a precautionary measure following the death of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who breathed his last at his residence at Hyderpora in the outskirts of Srinagar.

However, BSNL broadband was working without any suspension in the valley.

The voice call and broadband services of all TSPs were restored Friday night.

Officials said in view of the peaceful situation, mobile service (voice call) and broadband of all TSPs were restored on Friday night.

However internet on mobile, which remained suspended as a precautionary measure to prevent rumours, was restored in the Kashmir valley barring Srinagar and Badgam districts.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range, K Vijay Kumar said restoring mobile internet service in Srinagar and Badgam will be reviewed Tuesday afternoon.

People are yet again requested not to pay any heed to rumours being maliciously spread by the anti-national elements especially across the border with an objective to disturb the prevalent peaceful atmosphere in the valley, IGP said.
