J&K constable decamps with four service rifles from residence of a top police officer

Srinagar, Jan 16 (IBNS) In a major security breach, a Jammu and Kashmir Police constable decamped with four service rifles from the residence of a top police officer on Friday night.

The police have launched a manhunt to trace him.

Senior Police official told IBNS in Srinagar, that constable belt number 689 Shakoor Ahmed Parrey was posted as Personal Security Officer (PSO) to Sub Divisional Police Officer Bijbehara Irshad Ahmad Bhat in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district.

Irshad Ahmed Bhat SDPO Bijbehara was seriously injured in a militant attack in the year 2015, reports said that Shakoor Ahmad was accompanying him at the time of attack.

Later, Shakoor was questioned by the Kashmir Police after attack on SDPO Irshad Ahmad.

Shakoor according to a police official was converted from SPO to Constable in 2015.
