Jet Air Hostess held for carrying 3 crores in dollars on plane

New Delhi, Jan 9 (IBNS): A 25-year old Jet Air Hostess was arrested for allegedly carrying illegal 3.24 crores in US dollars to Hong Kong on Monday night, media reports said.

Devshi Kulshreshtha has been arrested for being involved in a money laundering network through a hawala operator.

She was caught with the money wrapped in Aluminium foil which were kept inside her suitcase.

She was caught in a surprise check on the plane.

A Delhi-based hawala Operator, Amit Malhotra, befriended Kulshreshtra in a trip and convinced her to carry the money.

Since then the air hostess transferred money in multiple trips. Kulshreshtha was paid one lakh for each trip, reports said.

The money sent though Kulshreshtra were channeled back to India in the form of golds.

Around 2 a.m. on Monday, in a surprise checking of the baggage, Kulshreshtra was caught.

She will be produced in a court soon.
