Jamshedpur, May 17 (IBNS) A school van driver was arrested on Sunday night in Jamshedpur's Sonari residential area for raping a 11-year-old over a period of six months, reports said.

The accused, identified as Suresh Rajak, a 43-year-old man, was arrested after the victim's parents lodged an FIR.

The class five girl had complained about severe abdominal pain and was rushed to a clinic, where the doctors, upon attending her informed the parents about her conditions.

The victim reportedly suffered abuse in October last year, for the first time. She kept silent as the offender threatened her to do the same with her younger sibling if she ever opened her mouth, police said.

HT quoted a police official as saying, "The girl did not inform her family as the driver had threatened that he would do the same with her younger sister… Two days back the girl was taken to a local doctor after complaining about pain. The doctor informed her parents that she was raped several times."
