Chandigarh, Feb 19 (IBNS) One person was killed and six were injured as the police fired on protesters demanding they be given government jobs under OBC quota, near the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) campus in Rohtak in Haryana, according to media reports.
Protesters allegedly set on fire the house of Haryana minister Capt Abhimanyu, who was not present inside the house then.
After the meeting between Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and the Jat leaders failed, the protesters took to the streets in Kaithal, Karnal, Jind and other districts in the state, disrupting road and rail traffic.

Earlier, mobile internet services have been suspended by the administration as protests in Haryana's Rohtak gains momentum, entering the sixth day on Friday, according to reports.
Demanding reservation for them, the Jat community's protest turned violent on Thursday evening, injuring at least 15 people.
