Fresh snowfall in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 4 (IBNS) The Kashmir valley received fresh snowfall from Jawahar Tunnel in south Kashmir and Kupwara district in north Kashmir on Monday.

Met officials  said that Qazigund received 2.3 cm, Pahalgam 2.3 cm, Kupwara 2 cm, Kokernag,2 cm and Gulmarg 18 cm of  snowfall.

Tourists, flocking Gulmarg welcomed fresh snowfall in the popular spot.

At the time of filing of the report, snowfall was going on in Srinagar and other parts of the valley.

Reports reaching IBNS said that, the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu National Highway however, remained open for traffic.

"Light to Moderate Rain / Snow would occur at few places over the state in next 24 hours," the met  department said.
