Earthquake hits Uttarakhand, tremors felt in Delhi, Haryana

New Delhi, Dec 6 (IBNS): A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck Uttarakhand on Wednesday evening, tremors of which were even felt in New Delhi and Gurgaon.

According to reports, the epicenter of the earthquake is 121 km east of Dehradun, in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the moderate intensity quake struck at 8:49 pm on Wednesday.

Tremors of the quake were also felt in Roorkee and Dehradun in Uttarakhand as well as in parts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

No damages have been reported so far.
