Disaster averted in Delhi airport : IndiGo,SpiceJet aircraft come face-to-face

| | Dec 27, 2016, at 05:09 pm
New Delhi, Dec 27 (IBNS) : In what could have been a head-on collision of frightening consequences, an IndiGo and a SpeiceJet aircraft came dangerously close on the Delhi airport runway on Tuesday morning, reports said.

The IndiGo flight had reportedly just arrived from Lucknow and the Spicejet flight was about to take off when the two aircraft came face-to-face.

The reason is being tentatively attributed to miscommunication with the Air Traffic Control tower.

The incident is being probed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

This is the second incident of close call on Tuesday morning as a Jet Airways flight skidded and took a 360 degree spin on the Goa airport runway just before take-off.

Some passengers were injured while being moved out of the plane.
