Dhaka siege: Indian girl Tarishi's mortal remains to return to Delhi tomorrow
New Delhi, July 3 (IBNS): The body of 19-year-old Tarishi Jain, who was killed in Dhaka's Gulshan hotel after being taken hostage by terrorists on Friday evening, will be brought to New Delhi on Monday, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has said.
Tarishi passed out from American School Dhaka and she was a student at UC Berkeley.
Swaraj said that her ministry arranged visa for the victim's family to travel to Dhaka on Sunday.
Swaraj tweeted: "The mortal remains will reach Delhi by Jet Airways on Monday 4th July. This is with concurrence of Tarishi's father."
The family will take the mortal remains to Ferozabad in UP.
The Bangladeshi Army on Saturday said that 20 people were killed by heavily armed terrorists after being taken hostage at a restaurant in the capital city Dhaka on Friday evening.
The people were kept hostage for nearly 10 hours in Dhaka's upscale restaurant Gulshan. The stand-off between Army and terrorists came to a end on Saturday morning.
The operation left six terrorists killed as well.
As the operation came to an end, 13 captives, including three foreigners, were rescued.
According to Bangladesh government, it was not terror group ISIS but all local terrorists responsible for the brutal siege attack in Dhaka's upscale restaurant Gulshan,
The hostages were taken by members of a homegrown Bangladeshi militant group and not followers of the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq, a senior minister of Bangladesh told media.
