New Delhi/UNI: Leader of Opposition (LoP) Vijender Gupta on Monday filed nomination papers as the BJP candidate from Rohini, for the February 8 Delhi Assembly polls.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Gupta said,''Today, after performing Havan, and offering prayers at the temple, I filed my nomination papers. On my way, I received immense love and support from the people of Rohini.''

Before filing nomination, Gupta's convoy reached the office of the election officer in a procession from Vinoba Kunj Apartment in Sector 9, Rohini.

Expressing confidence of BJP's victory in the Assembly elections, Gupta said the people of Delhi have steady faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

''This time the BJP's slogan is 'Kendra aur Rajya me ek sarkar, Dilli ka vikas tez raftaar','' he said.

Gupta went to SDM office in Kanjhawala and filed his nomination papers.

Apart from BJP MP Hansraj 'Hans' from North West Delhi, other party workers were also present at the time of filing the nominations at the election officer's office.
