Delhi people will decide whether I am their son or terrorist: Arvind Kejriwal on Parvesh Verma's remark

New Delhi/IBNS: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal has left it to the people of Delhi to decide whether he is their "son" or a "terrorist" as claimed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Parvesh Verma.

Verma was heard in a Jan 25 video saying, "We hear instances of Hindu women picked up by Muslim men... no action is taken as terrorists like Kejriwal are hidden everywhere...Should we fight with Pakistan terrorists in Kashmir or with terrorists like Kejriwal?"

Reaction to the statement, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal said, "The BJP people are saying Kejriwal is a terrorist. I have worked for you (people) as your son for five years. Now I leave it to you to decide whether I am your son or terrorist."

"BJP is calling me a terrorist. Through out my life, I have struggled for the people, everyday I try to work for the people and this nation. I have provided good education to our children. Does that make me a terrorist?" he said.

In the run up to the Delhi assembly elections, Verma had earlier said people protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh will come to people's houses and rape women.

Taking note of the remark, the Election Commission asked the BJP to remove Verma from its star campaigner's list.

Delhi will go to polls on Feb 8 and the votes will be counted on 11th of the same month.
