Congress shows its support to net neutrality

| | Apr 14, 2015, at 08:15 pm
New Delhi, Apr 14 (IBNS): The Congress on Tuesday showed its support to the issue of Net Neutrality.

"We demand Under section 25 of TRAI Act, to scrap this regulatory framework paper and support NetNeutrality like Congress party," Congress leader Ajay Maken said while addressing a press conference here.

He said: "When Internet service providers (ISP's) & Telecom service providers (TSP's) get the power to control, there wont be no Net Neutrality."

The Congress leader made the remarks on a day when India's e-commerce marketplace Flipkart on Tuesday said it will be walking away from the ongoing discussions with  telecom giant Airtel for their platform Airtel Zero.

Flipkart said it will be working towards ensuring that the spirit of net neutrality is upheld and applied equally to all companies in India irrespective of the size or the service being offered.
