Congress helping BJP by dividing anti-Modi votes: Kejriwal to Rahul

| @indiablooms | Apr 15, 2019, at 07:46 pm

New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI): Responding to the charge by Congress president Rahul Gandhi that he has taken a U-turn on the issue of alliance with Congress in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday charged the Grand Old Party of dividing anti-Modi votes in UP and other states by not going for alliance.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Kejriwal said: 'Which U-turn? The conversation was still going on. Your tweets show that the alliance is not your wish but just a sham. I am sorry you are indulging in making statements. Today the priority is to save the country from the danger of Narendra Modi-Amit Shah duo.Unfortunately, you are helping Mr Modi by dividing anti-Modi votes in UP and other states."

Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also responded to Mr Gandhi's tweet and said: "By compromising on 31 seats in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh, you can completely eliminate the possibility of Modi returning to power. Why does Congress want to keep the possibility of Modi returning to power?"

Earlier, Mr Gandhi has said in a tweet: "An alliance between the Congress & AAP in Delhi would mean the rout of the BJP. The Congress is willing to give up 4 Delhi seats to the AAP to ensure this. But, Mr Kejriwal has done yet another U turn! Our doors are still open, but the clock is running out #AbAAPkiBaari."
