Bribe: CBI arrests Additional GM of BSNL

New Delhi, Jan 8 (IBNS) The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday said it has arrested Additional General Manager, Telecom Project, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), Jaipur (Rajasthan) for demanding & accepting an alleged bribe of Rs.50,000 from the complainant.

"A case was registered against Additional GM, Telecom Project, BSNL, Jaipur U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 on the allegations that the Additional GM demanded bribe of Rs.60,000/- and agreed to accept Rs.50,000/- from the complainant for settling his pending bills. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant," the CBI said in a statement.

Searches were conducted at office & residence of the accused at Jaipur which led to recovery of cash of Rs.4.5 lakh(approx) and incriminating documents, the CBI said.
