BJP's meet to pick next Gujarat CM starts

Ahmedabad/UNI: A meeting of the BJP legislature party started in Ahmedabad here on Sunday to decide upon the next chief minister of the state in the presence of central observers sent by the party leadership in Delhi.

A meeting of the core groups of the party was also held ahead of the legislature meet.

Union Minister Narendra Singh Toma, and Pralhad Joshi and BJP's National General Secretary Tarun Chugh have been appointed observers for the selection.

Union ministers Mansukh Mandaviya and Purushottam Rupala, Gujarat Deputy chief minister Nitin Patel, state agriculture minister R C Faldu, and Gujarat BJP leader with roots in the Vishva Hindu Parishad Gordhan Zadafia are being considered among the top contenders to the CM's post.
