Assam govt announces Nov 19 as public holiday in Lakhimpur, Baithalangso in view of by-poll

Guwahati, Nov 10 (IBNS): The Assam government has declared November 19 as public holiday in the areas falling under Lakhimpur Parliamentary Constituency and Baithalangso (ST) Assembly Constituency on account of by-election.

In a statement, the government said that all State Government offices and all Revenue and Magisterial Courts, educational institutions falling under these constituencies will remain closed on that day.

Further, November 19 next is also declared as Public Holiday under the NI Act, 1881 and on that day all Central Government offices, public sector undertakings, corporations, boards, banks, educational institutions etc. in these areas will remain closed.
