All 43 accused in Kerala temple fire case get bail
Thiruvanthapuram, July 11 (IBNS) : The Kerala High Court on Monday granted bail to all the 43 accused in the Kollam Puttingal temple fireworks that claimed 109 lives in April this year, reports said.
The court while granting bail laid down certain conditions which included a bail bond, surety of the like sum.
The accused include the temple trust officials.
In April, 109 people died and 380 were injured after a fire work turned into an inferno. Following the incident the Kerala government announced both a judicial inquiry and a probe by the Crime Branch.
In May the court had denied bail to all the accused after the judge reportedly observed that Kerala had developed a very unhealthy cultural practice of glamorising any religious festival or ceremony by fireworks and elephant parade.
