Air Force officer killed car while practising for Republic Day parade in Kolkata

Kolkata, Jan 13 (IBNS) An Air Force officer was killed on Wednesday morning after being hit by a speeding car while practicing for the January 26 Republic Day parade in Kolkata , reports said.

Corporal Abhimanyu Gaud, 30, was supervising the practice parade at Red Road when he was knocked down  by an Audi.

After hitting him, the car rammed a barricade and came to a stop. The driver allegedly fled leaving the car there.

The seriously injured officer was taken to the military hospital where he died.

The car has been seized by the police and the driver is yet to be found.
