AAP complains Election Commission against Shah, BJP leaders for violating MCC

| @indiablooms | Jan 29, 2020, at 05:46 pm

New Delhi/UNI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday filed a complaint in Election Commission against Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other Bharatiya Janata Party leaders for tarnishing it's image by allegedly posting concocted videos.

"Mr Amit Shah, his MPs of Delhi and other leaders in their public utterances made false claims that nothing has been done by Aam Aadmi Party government for the betterment of the government schools in Delhi", the complaint filed by AAP leader Sanjay Singh and party national secretary Pankaj Gupta read.

AAP spokesperson Sanjay Singh, while addressing a press conference here, said that Delhi government has transformed its government schools in the past 5 years. "Instead of circulating fake videos, can Mr Shah show the condition of government schools in UP & Haryana?", he challenged the Home Minister.

"The parents of these children, studying in Delhi schools shall file a Rs 100 crore litigation against Mr Shah", he added.

AAP, in their complaint to EC, alleged that all these 'fake' videos were posted and shared by Mr Shah through his verified twitter handle on Jan 28, which was widely shared by many people including his MPs who made these videos.

"Mr Shah, along with his party MPs, in a well planned manner, with ulterior motive to spread false propaganda against Mr Arvind Kejriwal, Mr Manish Sisodia and AAP, manufactured and published false and fabricated videos on twitter and other media platforms", the complaint filed to EC further read.

Drawing the attention of Election Commission on point 4 of General conduct of Model Code of Conduct rules, AAP urged the EC to direct Mr Shah and other BJP leaders to remove these videos.

They also demanded EC to direct Delhi Police to register an immediate FIR against Mr Shah along with other BJP leaders in this connection and further urged the Commission to ban Union Home Minister for campaigning in the assembly polls.
