AAP accuses BJP of spreading 'fake' letter

"BJP people are so afraid of losing Varanasi that they are spreading fake pics of AAP thanking M. Ansari for support," The AAP said in a Twitter post.

"BJP-loving India TV showing this fake letter of AAP taking support shows how they fear Modi losing Varanasi," the party tweeted.

It has also threatened to sue a media channel for showing the fake letter of support by Kejriwal.

"India TV also showing the fake letter of support. We will take legal action for defamation and spreading false news," the AAP said.

In the letter, Kejriwal has reportedly thanked Ansari for his support, and wrote: "Muslim votes will come to the AAP and we would be able to keep communal forces out of Varanasi." 

Earlier reports said that the former Delhi Chief Minister might  join hands with Ansari in Uttar Pradesh for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

"We need to remove the Congress and the BJP from the country. Else corruption will never end. And to achieve this, all forces must unite together and fight against them," said Kejriwal, hinting at a possible alliance with Ansari.

Ansari had earlier announced that he will not contest the Lok Sabha polls against BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Kejirwal from the Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

Ansari, who is currently lodged in Agra jail on charges of murdering a BJP MLA, conveyed the decision through his brother and national party president Afzal Ansari in Varanasi. 

He was to fight the elections on Quami Ekta Dal's ticket.

Afzal Ansari reportedly said that the decision was taken avoid division of votes and to straighten secular forces.

Ansari has contested from Varanasi on a BSP ticket in 2009 elections against BJP's Murli Manohar Joshi.
