The counting of votes in the Bihar assembly elections 2025 is underway. JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar is aiming to become the Chief Minister for the 10th term being a part of the alliance that comprises Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP, Chirag Paswan's LJP (Ram Vilas) and HAM. NDA is taking on Mahagathbandhan- led by its CM face Tejashwi Yadav' RJD. Mahagathbandhan also comprises Congress as well as Left parties. The elections were held in two phases- on November 6 and 11.

NDA stuns by winning big in Muslim-dominated seats

In a big surprise, the NDA has gained massively in the Muslim-dominated seats in Bihar, which went to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11.

The results are being declared on Friday.

As per the initial trends, the NDA is leading in 16 such Muslim-dominated seats with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) becoming the biggest beneficiary within the alliance with leads in eight seats.

Chirag Paswan's LJPRV is leading six out of 16 seats where Muslim voters hold a sway.

According to a report by The Times of India, the RJD is trailing in seven Muslim-dominated seats which it had won in 2020 while Congress is trailing in four such seats which were under its belt.

Five years ago, RJD had won 18 and Congress six of such seats.

 

Chirag Paswan’s LJPRV quietly pulls off a massive Bihar breakthrough

Amid the Modi-Nitish storm, Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has pulled up a surprise in the Bihar assembly elections as the counting of votes is underway.

As per the Election Commission of India (ECI) data, LJP (Ram Vilas) is leading in 21 out of 29 seats it had contested.

The result is a massive gain for Chirag whose party could win only one seat in the last assembly elections.

Mahagathbandhan's CM face and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is trailing from Raghopur as the grand alliance is staring at a colossal defeat in the Bihar assembly elections.

While Tejashwi is trailing in his home turf, his brother Tej Pratap Yadav, who is a candidate of his own party Janshakti Janta Dal, is also lagging behind from Mahua.

JD(U) strongman Anant Singh takes commanding lead in Mokama

Janata Dal (United) candidate Anant Kumar Singh has taken a strong lead over the Mahagathbandhan in the Mokama assembly constituency in the early trends of Bihar poll results.

Singh has extended his lead by over 26,000 after the seventh round of vote counting.

RJD candidate Veena Devi is far behind with 15,174 votes.

NDA surges ahead in Bihar; Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) emerges as single-largest party in early trends

By mid-morning, trend trackers across major networks showed the NDA tally moving past the 150–160 seat range, placing the coalition on course to form the next government if these numbers hold.

The opposition Mahagathbandhan — with the Congress contesting 61 seats — lagged significantly, managing leads only in a handful of constituencies.

Thakur had joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP just a month ahead of the assembly elections.

Bihar poll results: Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj beats predictions

Defying the exit poll predictions, former political strategist Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj is leading in three seats as per the initial trends of Bihar assembly election results.

The three seats are Chanpatia, Chainpur and Kargahar.

The exit polls had predicted the strategist-turned-politician's party would draw a blank in its electoral debut.

NDA leads in 134 seats, MGB in 69 seats

Within NDA, BJP is leading in 67 seats, JDU in 59, LJPRV 7 and HAM 1. 

Within MGB, RJD is leading in 55, Congress 9, CPIML 3 and CPI 1.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has taken an early lead over Mahagathbandhan in the Bihar assembly election results which are being declared on Friday.

As per latest update by NDTV, NDA- comprising Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JDU and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP- is leading in 99 seats.

Tejashwi Yadav's RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, which also comprises Congress, is leading in 69 seats.
