Kolkata: A Valentine's Day theme party for elderly couples

| | Feb 14, 2017, at 05:40 pm
Kolkata, Feb 14 (IBNS): Valentine's Day celebrations are usually targeted at young people but elderly couples too have many memories of togetherness to share, a thought which has prompted a Kolkata-based organisation to hold a theme party for them.

"We also want to raise people's awareness about one of Kolkata's heritage and eco-friendly conveyances, the tram," said Rumi Borah, Founder and CEO of Mintlime, the organisation which had earlier arranged a senior citizen's New Year's Day party aboard a tram.

On Tuesday, Mintlime has arranged for a Valentine's Day theme party where the elderly couples will first walk the ramp and then take a tram ride from Esplanade to Chitpore and back, sharing their nostalgia about their life-experiences, about old Kolkata and trams, etc.

Portea Medical will also provide a free health check up to the elderly people attending the programme.
