39th Kolkata Book Fair ends

Kolkata, Feb 8 (IBNS): The 12-day-long 39th Kolkata International Book Fair ended on Sunday which was held at Milanmela Ground in Kolkata.

According to reports, 21 lakh people visited book fair this year and the books of Rs 20 crore were sold during this 12-day long winter event.

President of Publisher and Booksellers Guild Tridib Chatterjee told that book fair visitors' number had increased by almost 1 lakh from the last year.

This year the book fair started from Jan 28.

Tridib Chatterjee also announced the date of next year's book fair which will begin on Jan 27 and will end on Feb 7.

"I am not announcing the focal theme of next year's book fair. It will be a surprise," Chatterjee told IBNS.

The focal theme of this year's fair was Great Britain.
