Nirav Modi found by newspaper, not PM Modi & his agencies: Omar Abdullah
Srinagar, Mar 20 (UNI): Hitting out at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members for crediting Narendra Modi for the arrest of billionaire diamond tycoon Nirav Modi, the fugitive jeweller wanted in the Rs 13,000-crore Punjab National Bank scam, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah said it was a London-based newspaper that found him, not the Prime Minister and his agencies.
“It’s amusing to see the BJP falling over itself to credit the PM with the Nirav Modi arrest while completely ignoring the fact that it was The Telegraph of London & its correspondent who found Nirav Modi, not the PM & his agencies,” Abdullah, who is the vice president of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Abdullah also said it took "a special kind of hubris" to roam around Oxford Street without a care in the world the way Nirav Modi was.
“It’s no wonder it caught up with him,” he added.
Nirav Modi, who fled India last year after becoming a suspect in the biggest banking fraud in the country’s history, was on Wednesday arrested in London.
Nirav was arrested after The Telegraph tracked him down to an eight-million-pound apartment in London’s West End.
