Rioters will be hung upside down if BJP forms govt in Bihar in 2025: Amit Shah

Hisua (Bihar): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday slammed the Mahagathbandhan government led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar for failing to control communal violence in Sasaram and Bihar Sharif towns.

Criticising the Bihar government, Shah alleged that the Nitish Kumar regime could not tackle the anti-social elements with an iron hand and asserted that if the BJP comes into power in Bihar in 2025 rioters will be hung upside down.

Addressing a rally in Hisua in Nawada district, Shah said the people of Bihar have decided to elect BJP candidates in all 40 seats in the 2024 general elections.

“The people of the country have already decided that Narendra Modi will become the prime minister for the third consecutive term. After that, Nitish Kumar will go back on his promise of handing over the leadership to his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, as his aspiration of becoming the PM will be destroyed,” Shah said, addressing the rally.

He accused RJD founder and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar of practicing politics of appeasement and alleged that it has resulted in the flourishing of terrorism, whereas PM Modi scrapped Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP would never ever join hands with Nitish Kumar, who he accused of spreading casteism, and Lalu Prasad, who he said ushered in the "Jungle Raj" era in Bihar and pushed the state into backwardness.

He said Congress, JD(U), RJD, and TMC opposed the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya but one fine morning, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of a grand temple there.

On the current tense situation in various parts of Bihar due to post-Ram Navami violence, Amit Shah expressed hope that the situation returns to normal soon.

However, he said that Bihar Governor Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh became angry and questioned why Shah was concerned about Bihar. “As the Union home minister law and order situation in Bihar also falls under my responsibility,” he added.
