Mehbooba Mufti warns BJP over its attempts to break PDP

Srinagar, July 13 (IBNS): Following the breakup of the ties, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday warned its former ally, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), over its possible attempts to break the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), media reports said.

According to NDTV, Mufti has said Delhi will face consequences if it tries to break the PDP, to which the former CM belongs.

Mufti's comment came weeks after she resigned as the CM following the BJP's withdrawal of support from the coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP's Kashmir In-charge Ram Madhav had told media that "it has become untenable for the BJP to continue with PDP."

The rift between the two parties- which ran the Jammu and Kashmir government- became prominent after the Centre decided to resume the anti-terror operations following the end of festival Eid-al-Fitr.

The PDP wanted the central government to reach out to the separatists to resolve the crisis in the valley.
