South Korea's President holds historic meeting with Kim Jong-un's sister

Seoul, Feb 10 (IBNS): South Korea's President Moon Jae-in held a historic meeting with Kim Yo-jong, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's sister, as relation between the two Korean nations are slowly inching toward normalisation.

Kim Yo-jong is the first member from the ruling family to set foot in South Korea since the end of the 1950-53 Korean War.

She was accompanied by Kim Yong-nam, North Korea’s ceremonial head of state.

Meanwhile, the US Vice-President Mike Pence, who too was present during the opening ceremony of Winter Olympics on Friday night, refused to acknowledge the North Korea's ceremonial head of state, hinting that a reconciliation between America and the secretive Asian regime is not likely to happen any time soon.

In a rude gesture, he remained seated when athletes from the Korean contingent marched in the opening ceremony.
