Road mishap in Saudi Arabia kills 4 Britons
Riyadh, Apr 23 (IBNS): A coach crash in Saudi Arabia has left at least four Britons dead, media reports said.
The mishap left 12 others injured.
Raj Begum Hussain, 70, from Blackburn, died alongside an elderly man and a mother and her grown-up son, all from Preston, in Lancashire, reported BBC.
The coach was reportedly hit by a fuel tanker when it was on its way to Mecca on an Umrah pilgrimage.
The tanker caught fire and set the coach alight following the crash, media reports said.
18 people were traveling in the coach when the mishap occurred.
Blackburn-based Hashim Travel director, Gulfaraz Zaman, has called the incident as 'horrendous'.
"If you see the remains of the bus, there's just the metal frame of it that's left," he told the BBC.
Conservative MP for Wyre and Preston North Ben Wallace condoled the loss of lives in the mishap.
"My thoughts are with the family and friends of those that are reported to have been invlolved in an accident in Saudi Arabia," he tweeted.
