Islamabad, Apr 12 (IBNS): A Pakistan singer was shot dead during a wedding ceremony in country's  Sindh province on Tuesday, media reports said on Thursday.

A local artist gunned down Tuesday night during a wedding ceremony was, in fact, shot for refusing to entertain the gunman's dance request, Pakistan's Geo News reported, citing reports that surfaced Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Samina Sindhu.

According to media reports, she was shot after she refused to accept a specific dance request.

Abdullah Sheikh, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) for Larkana, told Geo News that Sindhu's killer has been identified as Tariq Jatoi.

He was been arrested.

The postmortem report of the singer revealed that she was pregnant, reports said.

Meanwhile, a video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Kapil Dev, an Islamabad-based human rights activist, has shared the clip on his Twitter page.

Sharing the video, he wrote: "Samina Sindhu, a 6-month pregnant Sindhi singer, was shot dead in Larkana by Tariq Jatoi. He asked her for stand-up performance. On refusal, he threatened her. Later when she stood up, Jatoi fired bullets in her body. Now, Jatois are pressurising her husband to withdraw from case."
