Kim Jong-nam murder: Accused women plead not guilty, say was tricked

| @indiablooms | Oct 02, 2017, at 05:47 pm
Kuala Lumpur, Oct 2 (IBNS): The two women accused in the killing of Kim Jong-nam, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's half brother, have pleaded not guilty in a Malaysian court on Monday morning, according to media reports.

During their trial, which got underway today, Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, 29, and Indonesian Siti Aisyah, 25 said that they were tricked into carrying out the job.

The girls were told that it was a TV prank, they said.

However, North Korea has denied the presence of its hand in the saga, contrary to Malaysian authorities' claim, who said that at least four spies belonging to the former fled the latter nation on the same day.

Jong-nam's death also placed Malaysia and North Korea in a bitter diplomatic battle, as the once allies, expelled the other's ambassador from their respective countries.

Kim Jong-nam was killed using a highly toxic VX nerve agent as he waited for a flight at Kuala Lumpur airport in February.

His death shocked the whole world, which joined hands in admonishing North Korea for its alleged role in the said incident.
