Is Queen Elizabeth II a descendant of Prophet Muhammad?

London, Apr 9 (IBNS): A new study has found that British monarch Queen Elizabeth II is a descendant of Prophet Muhammad, the  founder of Islam, media reports said.

The historians have claimed that the British monarch has a blood line with Muhammad.

The study has found the link tracing the family tree of 43 generations.

The claim has been published in Moroccan newspaper.

However, the findings were first published in 1986 by British authority on royal pedigrees Buke's Peerage.

Though genealogical records of early-medieval Spain supported the claim, several historians rejected it.

Burke's publishing director had reportedly sent a letter to then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in 1986 asking the latter to increase security for the royal family.

"The royal family's direct descent from the prophet Mohammed cannot be relied upon to protect the royal family forever from Moslem terrorists" the letter has been quoted by Daily Mail.

A comment from Buckingham Palace, the administrative headquarters of monarchs in London, is yet to reach.
