Islamabad: German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, who was touring Pakistan, was forced to cut short her trip after she tested COVID-19 positive.

Confirming the report, Germany’s ministry of foreign affairs was quoted as saying by The News International, “Annalena Baerbock had a positive screening test after lunch today.”

She was tested positive for the virus after lunch as the foreign minister had noticed that she lost her sense of taste.

As per the official Twitter handle of her Ministry: "AM @ABaerbock
had a positive screening test after lunch today after noticing a loss of taste. AM Baerbock has consistently tested itself. A quick test that morning was negative. All other dates of the trip are cancelled."

Interestingly, the ministry said she had tested negative for the viral infection even in the morning.
