Donald Trump calls his Singapore trip as 'amazing'
Singapore City, June 13 (IBNS): On his way back home from Singapore after meeting North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, US President called the trip as 'amazing'.
"Heading back home from Singapore after a truly amazing visit. Great progress was made on the denuclearization of North Korea. Hostages are back home, will be getting the remains of our great heroes back to their families, no missiles shot, no research happening, sites closing," he tweeted.
The US President said: "Got along great with Kim Jong-un who wants to see wonderful things for his country. As I said earlier today: Anyone can make war, but only the most courageous can make peace! #SingaporeSummit."
He thanked Kim and tweeted: "There is no limit to what NoKo can achieve when it gives up its nuclear weapons and embraces commerce & engagement w/ the world. Chairman Kim has before him the opportunity to be remembered as the leader who ushered in a glorious new era of security & prosperity for his citizens!."
He said the meeting between him and Kim showed that 'real change is possible'.
"I want to thank Chairman Kim for taking the first bold step toward a bright new future for his people. Our unprecedented meeting – the first between an American President and a leader of North Korea – proves that real change is possible!," he said.
Ending all dilemma, Kim and Trump met in Singapore on Tuesday.
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday described his bond with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his country as "special".
Trump said this after signing a joint statement with Kim at the US-North Korea Summit, which was held in Singapore on Tuesday.
Addressing a joint press conference, Trump said: "We developed a very special bond."
Kim on Tuesday assured that the denuclearisation process will begin soon.
During the brief media interaction, Kim said: "The world will see a major change."
Trump, on the other hand, was found praising the US' new friendly ties with North Korea.
2017 witnessed US President Donald Trump slamming North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as the Asian nation continued to conduct several of its missile tests, teasing world peace and tranquillity and often threatening to trigger a war.
The situation became far tensed when North Korea tested an inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) that the nation said was capable of striking US mainland.
The United Nations Security Council imposed strong new sanctions against the Asian nation after its Nov 29 launch of a nuclear-capable weapon.
Trump and North Korea continued to exchange barbs earlier this year too.
