Seoul/New York, Dec 17 (IBNS): UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has hinted at running for South Korea's presidency, media reports said.

His tenure as the UN chief ends this December.

With his native country going through a political turmoil, Ki-moon has said that he wants to help in the best manner possible.

South Korea's incumbent President Park Geun-hye is facing accusation of helping a close friend in making profit with her connections.

The South Korean Parliament has already voted against her and have asked for her impeachment.

The Next presidential election is set for Dec 2017, however, the country could opt for an early poll if Park is impeached.
