Attacker shot outside cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris
Security officials reportedly made the move after the person attempted to attack an officer with a hammer.
"The shots prompted panic among visitors. The area around the cathedral has been closed and people are being asked to stay away," BBC reported.
The incident occurred just days after three attackers launched an attack in London city of Britain, killing seven people.
The three attackers have been identified by the police.
